Arthur Gumer, MD

Dr. Arthur Gumer was born and raised in New York. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 1976. He graduated from The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. in 1984 and did his residency training at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While Chief Resident, he received the Thomas Boggs Award for Neonatal-Perinatal Research. Upon completion of his residency in 1988, he began full time practice in Atlanta and has been with the same group of physicians for over 20 years.

Dr. Gumer enjoys providing care for both low risk and high risk pregnancies and values the long term relationships he has made with his patients and their families. He is interested in all aspects of gynecologic care for women at various stages of their lives from adolescent gynecology through the menopause years. Providing routine well women care, he is particularly interested in abnormalities of the cervix, contraceptive management, infertility, minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic hysterectomy, and management of menopause. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1990.

Dr. Gumer is married with two adult children living in New York. Dr. Gumer enjoys playing guitar and piano, photography, running and is an avid reader. He is also one of only a few certified Mohels in the Atlanta community.
